Made with only 3 ingredients, this blueberry protein smoothie is the closest thing to homemade fruit yogurt you can go. It blends your favourite yogurt with blueberries and a splash of milk for a super creamy, high-protein fruity concoction that you can enjoy as a quick healthy breakfast, guiltless sweet snack or after-dinner treat.

Ingredients You’ll Need to Make Blueberry Protein Smoothie
Yogurt - the main source of protein in this smoothie. Use Greek yogurt for extra creaminess. You can go with your favourite dairy on non-dairy yogurt, or even try making your own.
Blueberries - add flavour and that amazing purple colour to the smoothie. Use frozen blueberries for an extra thick, refreshing smoothie.
Milk - if the smoothie is too thick to drink, add an extra splash of milk or even water. My preferred choice for smoothies is almond milk, but you can go with any dairy or non-dairy milk you prefer.
Liquid Sweetener - optional but recommended if you prefer your smoothies on the sweet side. You can go with agave syrup, honey (if not vegan), or your favourite liquid sweetener (such as stevia).
Should I Use Fresh or Frozen Blueberries?
You can use either. Frozen blueberries will make the smoothie much thicker, but also more refreshing.
Which Yogurt Should I Use?
I’m a fan of low-fat Greek style soy yogurt, because it’s high in protein and extra creamy, but you can use whichever you prefer, either dairy or non dairy. I do, however, recommend going with Greek-style yogurts, because of their extra creamy texture.

How Many Calories Are in a Blueberry Protein Smoothie?
One serving of this blueberry smoothie has approximately 250 calories and 8 grams of protein.
When Is the Best Time to Enjoy This Blueberry Smoothie?
You can enjoy your green smoothie any time of the day. Let’s take a look at some of the most common routines, and why they might be a good idea.
In the morning: because of its high protein content, this blueberry smoothie is perfect for breakfast.
After a workout: post-workout snacks should be high in protein, which will help to build and repair muscles.
In place of your lunch or dinner: if you’re having one of those days when you just can’t seem to find the time for a proper lunch, a smoothie is better than skipping a meal altogether. However, I wouldn’t recommend doing this every day, as a 3-ingredient smoothie is not a wholesome meal.
As a snack: when you’re craving something sweet, a smoothie can be a great idea. However, some smoothies can be quite high in calories, so make sure you take this into account when planning your other meals.
Will This Smoothie Last in the Fridge?
It will last in the fridge for up to one day, but is definitely best fresh. I don’t recommend making this ahead.
