This strawberry mango sunrise smoothie is packed with fruits and sweet flavours. With only four ingredients and less than 10 minutes of work you can enjoy an Instagram-worthy smoothie even on the busiest mornings.
Summer just got even better. If you’re a fellow smoothie enthusiast, you’ll love this sunrise version of a classic flavour combo that is as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate. We all know strawberries and mangoes go great together, but this smoothie takes things to a whole new level.
How to Make a Sunrise Smoothie
Like a classic tequila sunrise, this strawberry mango smoothie goes from pink at the bottom to a bright yellow at the top. You make this happen by first pouring in your strawberry smoothie, and then following up with a layer of mango smoothie. Don’t worry, they won’t mix, because the bottom one will be just a bit thicker to hold the mango one on top. If you want, you can finish off by giving it a gentle stir to create that eye-catching swirly effect.
Fresh or frozen - you can go either way, but I picked frozen strawberries for the bottom layer to make it nice and thick with little effort, and fresh mangoes for the top one. If you like your smoothies nicely frosty, you can add a few ice cubes to the mango layer as well.
Make it vegan - this refreshing sunrise smoothie includes mangoes, strawberries, almond milk and honey. Strict vegans can easily replace honey with agave syrup (or your favourite liquid sweetener) and make it 100% vegan.
